I haven't seen these posted yet, although MN just wrapped up two days ago. I want names, people!

In Oregon, Leah Ilem was hired. Leah has been with the Oregon Symphony on a one-year contract for the past year, and also plays with Chicago's Grant Park Symphony in the summers. Leah is originally from Washington state, and studied at Cleveland Institute of Music with Jeff Irvine and Robert Vernon.

Here in Minny, our audition will be continuing with one candidate playing a few trial weeks with the orchestra later this season. Since we haven't hired anyone yet, I'll keep the candidate's name private.

That's fantastic! Leah is a friend of mine from Grant Park, and I was hoping she had done well.

I'm happy to announce that, after playing two trial weeks, Ben Ullery has won the position in our viola section. Ben is a recent Oberlin grad, and a Minnesota native as well, which I believe brings the total number of Minnesotans in the orchestra to 5. Congratulations to Ben!
