There have been a few horn auditions in January not mentioned so far on this site. What happened with Seattle, Ft. Worth, Chicago Lyric, and Rochester?

My friend in the Seattle Symphony told me that the horn position (principal I think) there wasn't filled...a no hire....my friend said they are working to have another audition.

Any news of the NY Phil auditions?

I heard rumors that only one person at the live auditions for the 2 NY Phil jobs made it past the prelims. Any comments?

The rumors you heard are not correct. There were 14 semifinalists (several of whom were at a live audition), and 2 were advanced to play with members of the horn section.
