The following was sent out by Clark Fobes on the klarinet mailing list:

The results of the Principal clarinet audition for the San Francisco Symphony were announced today. Two players have been "qualified". They are Carey Bell (Principal Clarinet of the SF Opera) and Greg Raden (Principal Clarinet of the Dallas Symphony).

These two players will be invited to play with the orchestra at some point
next season and each will play for two weeks. After that one candidate can
be appointed into a tenure track "probationary" position or the conductor
also has the option to reject both candidates.

Congrats to both, and best wishes for the rest of the process.

This is also what's currently happening with their Principal Trumpet situation (2 finalists each playing some cycles). Anyone know where that decision currently stands?

I heard that Carey Bell has won this position. Can anyone confirm that?
