A friend whom I trust has told me that Nitzan Haroz, principal trombone of the Philadelphia Orchestra, has been offered principal in the LA Phil. I don't know for sure if he has accepted. Maybe some here knows?

I had heard of the offer a few weeks ago from a source very close to the situation. I have yet to hear if the deal has been finalized.

A friend of mine is curious if you've heard any more about this situation.

Haven't heard for 100% sure but I would not be shocked if Nitzan was westward bound.

A few weeks ago, I heard that there was an agreement in principle for him to come to LA, but that details still needed to be worked out and nothing was signed at that time.

In this morning's Philadelphia Inquirer, Peter Dobbin wrote an article about the Philadelphia Orchestra which included the following paragraph.

"Principal trombonist Nitzan Haroz has won an audition with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He declined to comment because, he wrote in an e-mail, "the details regarding the LA position are still being worked out." "

By the way, I heard NH play the Concerto for 7 Winds by Frank Martin last Friday in Philadelphia.
He and all of the principal winds sounded great!
